The Register Office is following COVID secure guidelines to ensure the safety of all customers and staff. This means we can only have a limited number of people in the building at any time.

No visitors to attend the Register Office without a prior appointment. Please note that children cannot attend the office until further notice without prior agreement. Newborn babies being registered can attend but this is not a requirement.
Please note that everyone attending the Register Office must wear a face covering (unless you have a medical reason not to do so) and may have their temperature taken. If you have a temperature or refuse to wear a face covering, then you will not be able to enter the building. Prams, buggies and wheeled items (unless medically required)) cannot enter the premises. They may be left in our buggy park at your own risk or placed in your vehicle prior to your appointment time. The carry cot or car seat may be detached and bought in with you. We would like to make sure that everyone using the Register Office and our services are comfortable, safe and secure.
The council is committed to the protection of its staff and the community and will not tolerate violent, racist, sexist, homophobic or aggressive behaviour.
Any anti-social behavior will be reported, and the firmest possible action taken, including prosecution.

Please note that unless the social distance measures currently in place are lifted, the maximum capacity for the Woodlands Ceremony suite, will remain at 26 people.
Civil Marriage and Civil Partnership Ceremonies are open from the following phased dates but are subject to government guidelines and may be subject to change:
- 8 March 2021 – 6 people (Couple and 4 guests)
- 12 April 2021 – 15 people (Couple and 13 guests)
- 17 May 2021 – 30 people (Couple and 28 guests)
- 21 June 2021 – Room capacity (in accordance with government guidance issued at the time)
These are the earliest dates that the number of guests may be able to attend but all weddings are booked for 6 people. See terms and conditions.
Please note priority will be given to ceremonies cancelled during the period from 20 December 2020 to 7 March 2021.
